Cooper's Home from the Hospital
I am very happy to share the news that Cooper Krause went home from the hospital earlier this week. Cooper still faces an ongoing and challenging recovery, but at least he gets to be at home. His father, Gary, reports that Cooper is looking and feeling better. Let me also share this from the e-mail I received from Gary:
"Lisa, Cooper and I are extremely grateful and fortunate to have the support from friends and family to help him and us get to this point."
Not only has this been very hard on Cooper but, as you can imagine, it's heart-breaking to see someone you love go through something like this. I'm sure you all join Janet and me in sending our thoughts, prayers, and support to the entire Krause family.
JO Commitments Needed Now
We are close to having enough athletes to take a 14U boys team and a 16U boys team to the Junior Olympics in July, but we still need a few more for each team to make this work. If you have signed up, or are interested in going, we will be having a parents and athletes meeting this coming Saturday the 18th.
Gearing Up for the Zone Championships!
Thank you to everyone who took part in our Spring League of Pirates. Our focus now is on the Mountain Zone Championships in Utah June 27-29. We want to work athletes in their Utah teams. To do that, we need good attendance at workouts.
As we talk about workouts, we need to let you know about many changes to our schedule due to work at some of our pool. Please keep up with e-mail and the website for more changes.
When you see CAC below, that refers to Colorado Athletic Club Inverness (located near County Line and I-25) which is an outdoor pool. ACC is Arapahoe Community College in Littleton. Denver is Hiawatha Recreation Center on Holly near MLK Blvd.
Please note that Tuesday evening practices have moved to a 6:30pm start (be on deck ready to go at 6:30) and will run until 8:00pm. Thank you to the parents who responded to our poll on Tuesday night workouts.
Here is the schedule for the rest of May through June 1st:
Monday, May 13: Denver - 12's 5:30-6:30 and 13 on up 6:00pm-7:30pm; no ACC

Wednesday, May 29: CAC - 6:30pm-8:00pm

It is possible that we will have ACC May 23 and 27 if the construction goes faster than anticipated. In June, we will not be able to practice at Hinkley on Tuesday evenings. We are looking into our options.
