Colorado Water Polo Pirates
A water polo club for the Denver metro area.
Grier Laughlin, Head Coach and Director of Colorado Water Polo:
A reformed swimmer, Grier was an 11 time All-American swimmer at Cherry Creek High School. He went on to captain the varsity swim team at Dartmouth College where he was introduced to water polo.
Since then, Grier has coached 9 All-American swimmers, as well as a National Champion. Grier started Colorado Water Polo in May of 2003. Over the last several years, his team has produced elite players participating in National Competitions for the Mountain Zone, players who have been invited to compete for the National Team, and athletes who are playing water polo at the Division I varsity level.
Grier is a Member of the Mountain Zone Board and is USWP Certified.
Mark Isenburg, Assistant Head Coach:
Mark Isenburg has been with Colorado Water Polo since 2003. Mark also coached boys and girls high school teams in Salt Lake City, Utah for 11 seasons, assisting on two girls state championship teams, head coach for a boys state finalist, and assisting for another boys state finalist. Mark played on the University of Utah club team. Mark is a USWP certified coach.
Manu Ghaffari, Boulder Location Head Coach:
Manu Ghaffari is a certified USWP coach and referee. He is head coach for the 15&under girls 2009 Mountain Zone Team and served as an assistant on the 2008 Mountain Zone team. Manu has played on and off since 1970.
Brian Kenny, Assistant Coach - Arapahoe Location:
Assistant Coach Brian Kenny also coaches for CWP. Brian joined Colorado Water Polo in 2006. Brian played for Queen's College in New York City, and was a player/coach for Florida State's club team. Brian also helped coach the Queen's College men's and women's teams as a graduate assistant.

Kyle Davenport, Assistant Coach - Aurora Location:
Kyle Davenport is the newest coach for Colorado Water Polo, joining us in 2009. A Denver native, he swam four years at Overland High School before attending Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. Kyle played club water polo at Northwestern. He also coached varsity and junior varsity water polo at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois. Kyle and his wife moved back to Denver three years ago and Kyle's wife, Alexis Keto, is the head coach for the Colorado Athletic Club Stingrays swim team.
Shari Worack, Youth League Coach:
Shari played with the Pirates for two years from 2003-2004. She then played two years with Colorado State University's NCAA program. Shari specialized in center play for both the Pirates and the Rams. Shari returned to help coach the Pirates in 2008. We're happy to have her back with the Pirates as a coach!
