This should be our most exciting Youth League yet! In addition to the usual practices and games, we'll have two exciting tournaments during this league, one about halfway through, the other just after the Winter Youth League concludes.

Youth League is a great introduction to water polo for kids 12 and under.  No experience is necessary, just come and give it a try.  Swimming background is not required, though a player must be safe in the water and it would be best if they could swim at least 25 yards without stopping or resting.

Youth League includes one weeknight practice at any of three locations around the Denver-metro area, and a game on Saturday mornings at Gateway High School in Aurora on Sable just south of Mississippi.  http://mapq.st/wUKNlF

Practices begin the week of January 30th, and conclude March 31st.  Here is a list of practice and games dates.

(March 10 is part of the 2^nd Annual Grier Laughlin Memorial Tournament.  There will be no Youth League game that day, but some of you may be in the tournament!)

The Fall Youth League was our most successful yet, combined with the unique opportunity to compete in the 1st USA Water Polo 12U National Championships.

Youth League is a fun way for beginners to learn the game and is designed for all players 8-12. 

We will have another Youth League this Winter or early Spring.  Check back for updates.

As usual, Youth League will include one practice and one game per week.  The cost for players just participating in Youth League is $150.

*All middle and elementary school athletes invited.  This is a BEGINNER league, so swimming ability, water polo knowledge, and aquatic backgrounds are NOT required.  Just come and give it a try.

The Pirates won their final three games to take 5th place at USA Water Polo's first ever 12U National Championship Tournament.  Teams came from Connecticut, Florida, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Colorado.

The final game for the Pirates was the most closely-contested against a very strong Neptunes team.  The Pirates led by one at half-time.  But the Neptunes came back to tie the game by the end of the 3rd quarter.  But tough defense and an aggressive attack by the Pirates led to victory.

Congratulations Pirates!  We're very proud of you.

For the second year in a row, our 12U team took 2nd place at the June tournament in Kearns, Utah.  This year, the tournament became the Mountain Zone Championships.  In cooperation with the Rocky Mountain Neptunes, we played under the Neptune name, but we still cheered on our Pirate players!  I want to thank all of you for working so hard, for being willing to help out the Neptunes, and showing such good sportsmanship!
